Janolyn Groff
Janolyn Groff lived in Fairview, Illinois. She has one brother and her hobbies include completing word find books, coloring and playing games on her iPad. Her friends describe her as someone who is pretty, enjoys the company of others and likes to play games. Janolyn moved into Moweaqua three years ago and plays games with friends including bingo, Yahtzee and Uno. She says that the good food and staff are why she loves it at Moweaqua. “The food here is good and I like the staff. They treat me a lot better than where I came from,” she says.
Daisy Rigsby
Daisy Rigsby lived in Macon, Illinois. She enjoys shopping and playing games like bingo and Uno. When her mother sustained a hip injury, Daisy says they decided quickly that Moweaqua was where they wanted to move to because it is close to Macon. Daisy and her mom enjoy life at Moweaqua because everyone is nice and the food is good. “…My favorites are fried potatoes and cabbage,” she says. She is friends with the staff who she describes as hard working.
Ray Thomas
Ray Thomas was a construction worker who worked across the US until retiring in 2017. His friends say he likes to help the homeless and that he raised his kids to be outgoing, direct and successful leaders. In his free time Ray likes to play pool, go bowling and play card games. Ray chose to move into Moweaqua because of the friendly, professional staff and clean rooms. “The food is also good. Activities are encouraged if you want to participate. I like the outings too,” he says.
Brenda Rhodes
Brenda Rhodes has lived in the area for 25 years and is a retired Home Health Services employee. Friends of Brenda describe her as honest, helpful, kind and good hearted. She likes to listen to country music, sew, visit with people, go fishing, make art and go to sporting events. Brenda visited a few other communities before choosing Moweaqua, but says she was drawn to this community because its clean, home-like environment, friendly staff and convenient location. She also loves that when she has a question for the community that it is answered in a timely manner.
Roy Gilick
Roy Gilick lived in Macon, Illinois for 56 years. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, classic cars, exotic cars and visiting with friends. Roy retired in 1982 from working as a repo man, wrecker driver and mechanic. His friends describe him as happy, hardworking, loving and friendly. “They say I’ve never met a stranger!” he says. When his sister-in-law recommended Moweaqua, he says it was a quick decision. Now, four years later, Roy says he likes how his needs are well taken care of and that the food is great.
